Disappointed But Hopefully Not Defeated

since we don't have infertility insurance coverage, we have been footing the bill for everything. times have been really rough because of me not being able to find a job, and now with the holidays it has gotten worse.

i had the funds for at least one more follow up appointment to monitor our progress with the medication (ultrasound, and blood work) to see if we could trigger. well as fate would have it, i had an emergency that drained my funds. so i was already worried that if I had to go in before friday to be monitored that we wouldn't be able to afford it and our cycle would have been wasted.

well last night I entered my temp into fertilityfriend.com and realized that it had spiked. this is usually a sign that you are about to ovulate. i wasn't supposed to start using OPKs until today, but i decided to test last night since i didn't want to miss it (i'm working a temp position this entire week and you really can't use first morning urine for OPK so I was afraid I would miss it). Of course the thing is positive. i left a message with my nurse at the RE's office having no idea what they would say.

so today i spoke with the nurse who spoke to my doctor. they advised that it may be too early for me to actually be ovulating (even though they told me to start using OPKs today because Clomid can make you ovulate early), but because i cannot go in for my monitoring appointment for the tests, they can't say for sure. they advised that I wait until Friday to us the trigger shot, or to just try to time intercourse on our own and hope for the best.

i am taking the later choice, since i really don't want to administer a shot to myself without being monitored by my doctor. i am just going to continue to use the OPKs to see if there is any change, but as of this afternoon i had my 3rd positive OPK. i'm just going to "baby dance" with hubby every other day for the next week and hope that we make our miracle baby

if not, then we are back to the starting point next cycle when our flex spend account will be replenished. we've increased our contribution so that we have enough to do at least one cycle of IUI.

please, if you can spare any vibes (well wishes are usually called vibes on thenest.com), think of us in the next few weeks. we would love to conceive our baby this cycle.
